- Harmony
of Hormones and Neurotransmitters
- Justin Opal, RPT
An
overview of the extreme importance of lifestyle on health.
Who we are is greatly dictated by the delicate balance
of hormones within our bodies. Hormones are regulated
by the endocrine system which is sensitive to environment,
thought, stress and diet. Hormones and neurotransmitters
are chemical messengers that relay vital instructions
through out our entire bodies. All of our hormones were

- How
to Understand Food Labels Nutrition Facts Panel, Navigating
Food Labels - Dianne Villano, CPFI
Here are a
few tips to help you dissect the food label before your
next visit to the supermarket ... Just because the food
label lists a certain number of calories per serving does
NOT mean that's how much YOU eat. In fact, almost everyone
I know consumes much more than the serving size listed
on the Nutrition Facts panel. Many times the amounts are
just not realistic, and most people -- rather than counting
out 15 chips or measuring a three-ounce serving -- either
fool themselves into thinking they're eating the "right
amount" or ignore it altogether. And because the
ENTIRE Nutrition Facts panel is based on the "serving
size," it's very important to get it right or all
the information will be inaccurate.

is linked with diseases such as: obesity, cancer, diabetes
and cardiovascular disease. Currently, the average North
American consumes over 130 pounds of sugar annually or
40 teaspoons daily. While near impossible to avoid, it
is a good idea to restrict your intake...

- Diet
for Cold Sores - Doug Setter
... Certain foods that
you eat will boost your immune system, encourage intestinal
flora (good bacteria) and inhibit the herpes virus. Keep
in mind that the herpes virus thrives with the amino acid
arginine, but not with lysine. Therefore, it is important
to lower your intake of arginine and increase your intake
of lysine when you have canker or cold sores ...
