Sun Run
The
Vancouver Sun Run is the second largest 10K in North
America. The 2004 Sun Run is expected to attract
an estimated 50,000 plus participants. 49,743 Sun
Runners participated in 2003.
The route starts
in Vancouver's downtown core with the start line
located between Burrard and Thurlow Streets.
You will head west
down Georgia Street, turn left on Denman and immediately
right onto Robson heading into Stanley Park (close
to the tennis courts). Leave the park at Beach Ave;
turn left on Granville, left on Pacific and go over
the Burrard Street Bridge.
At the end of the
bridge, take 2nd Avenue, head east along 4th and
6th Avenues to Cambie Street. You'll head north
over the Cambie Street Bridge, exit onto Pacific
Boulevard and finish as usual, at BC Place Stadium.
The route is sprinkled
with gentle, undulating hills -- the most notable
being the hill on Fourth Avenue close to Granville
Island. The scenery will include snow-capped mountains
along Georgia, leafy greenery in Stanley Park, the
breathtaking water view at English Bay, and bridge
views of English Bay and False Creek.
Shaw Mini Sun Run route
Mini Sun Runners
head east on Pacific Boulevard from the 10K finish
line, veer left into Keefer St., left into Abbot
St., then take a right turn into Expo Boullevard
followed by a left turn into Terry Fox Way and finally
wind back into Pacific Boulevard for the final stretch
to the finish line.

1/2 Marathon
The world's most scenic and easiest half-marathon,
from UBC to Stanley Park, with a NET DROP of 82m!!
Start time is 7:30am sharp on Thunderbird Boulevard,
in front of Osborne Centre, UBC. See Photos!
5k Course
Start time is 9:00am. Start and finish at Lumberman's
Arch. Featuring a scenic loop on the roads and paths
of Stanley Park. The 5k Run/Walk is a non-competitive
event and is NOT chip timed.
